Hey Rosie,
any word from Mr. Sweeney about the pbs gig? He hasn't called me or emailed me and I'm wondering if this is legit. would you have or know anyone that has his phone or email?
Tim
Hey Rosie,
Is it about the geneology workshop, becasue Courtney already asked him and he said he would do it. His email is Celtictiger4@comcast.net.
Cheers,
Tim
I don't know if we will make it on Sunday. I try to bring her to the Plow on the Sundays we are already in the city for the Young Musicians sessions since we live in southern NJ and it is a bit of a drive. Haley says, "Hi." She'd come and play every week if it were up to her.
Hopefully this comes out, I'm doing a copy - paste. If you want them emailed send me your address,
All the best,
John
I usually capo the 4th fret and these are the chords we use, taken directly from the Planxty version; the words here aren't exactly the ones we use, just some I found online.

A Blacksmith courted me, nine months and bet-ter.

He fairly won my heart, he wrote me a let-ter.

With his hammer in his hand he looked so clever,

And if I were with my love I would live for-ever.
Oh, where has my love gone, with his cheeks like roses?
He's gone across the sea, gathering primroses.
I'm afraid the shining sand might burn and scorch his beauty,
And if I were with my love I would do my duty.
Strange news is come to town, strange news is carried,
Strange news flles up and down that my love is married.
Oh, I wish them both much joy, though they don't hear me,
And if I were with my love I would do my duty.
Oh, what did you promise me when you lay beside me?
You said you'd marry me and not deny me.
If I said I'd marry you it was only to try you,
So bring your witness, love, and I'll not deny you.
Oh, witness have I none, save God Almighty,
And may he reward you well, for the slighting of me.
Her lips grew pale and wan, it made her poor heart tremble
For to think she'd loved but one, and he'd proved deceitful.
Hi Rosaleen,
I was wondering if you were related to the McGill girls. I remember you singing, I couldn't hear you too well and I never knew you were one of the Mc Gill girls! The Fado thing just started, it's the first one of these I've run and it's been going well, generally about 6 or 7 people playing and a few more watching. It's in the back room at Fado so it's a nice intimate setting, a bit small when there's a few musicians though. I had about 8 playing there last Tuesday and it was a little tight. You should come along. How are your sisters doing? I havn't seen any of them in a while.
John
When are you going to be singing at Shanachie again? I was there the other night and the regulars told me you were there all the time. Except, of course, the nights I'm there.
