I'm 3rd generation Irish on my mom's side and was steeped in Irish history as a child. My grandfather was a 1st cousin of Eamon DeValera's and they were raised as brothers for a time so I was always hearing stories of the Easter Rebellion and so on as a kid.
Unfortunately my family was all politics and no music so I got a late start in that regard. I was mainly introduced to Celtic music while camping out at the Philly Folk Fest and partying with the Boyces and McGillians and all. Now I'm a huge fan and Ratty Patty turned me on to this site. Some of these people look very familiar!
