Where the Irish of the Delaware Valley meet

The last young musicians session of the year will be December 14 at 1pm. As usual, bring snacks to share and bring your tune list! We had no lack of players offering up tunes in the November session. Let's keep that going!
I will also be handing out t-shirts at the December session and we'll take a group photo.

The tune of the month: Return from Fingal, a march
It's on the McDermott's Handy website: http://es45.hslc.org/~gormley/tunes/rtfingal.htmlx
One of the group's also managed to get in Hector the Hero (a tune we taught at the session, geez, about 9 years ago!):

A couple of people asked for slower tunes, for a change, last month and so we complied with these two beautiful pieces.

Here's a list of tunes we played during the session (all of these are on our website: http://es45.hslc.org/~gormley/tunes/giftunes.html if you want to look them up)

The Butterfly
Boys of Blue Hill / Harvest Home
The Britches full of stitches / Bill Sullivan's
Concertina / Wind that Shakes the Barley (reels)
Ships are Sailing / Mountain Road (reels)
Rights of Man / Off to California (hornpipes)
Sally Garden / Flowers of Edinburgh
Egans / 69th Street / Sean Ryan's polkas

We also handed out t-shirts for the people who ordered them. If you weren't there today, we'll bring them again next month and you can pick them up then.

Also, we have a group who is interested in performing at the Wren Party that the CCE is having on St. Stephen's Day, December 26, at the K of C Hall in Glenside at 7pm. This is a huge Irish house party. Dance. Food. Lots of music and people take turns getting up an entertaining the crowd. So we'll have the Next Generation on the program. If you want to come, just dress up in your new t-shirt!.

A reminder that the annual Next Generaiton show at the Garden State Discovery Museum in Cherry Hill NJ is January 25.

CORRECTION ON DISCOVERY MUSEUM SHOW: as I stated in the November session list, the concert is January 31--NOT Jan 25 as I mentioned in the last discussion I posted.
