Seeking Irish Roses in Philadelphia!

Here is the scoop:

Roses must be women between the ages of 18-27 (having not reached their 28th birthday before August 26, 2009)
Unmarried and never before married
Have traceable Irish ancestry
Be comfortable with public speaking

The Philadelphia Rose will win an all expenses paid trip to Ireland this August to represent our city in the International Rose of Tralee Festival. This is the festival's 50th anniversary and the celebrations will be bigger and better than ever! The Philadelphia Rose will join 49 other Roses from all over the world for the experience of a lifetime. Televised on RTE, the Rose of Tralee selection is the most watched television program in Ireland every year.

The Philadelphia Rose will also have a meeting/media training with Nicole Brewer, former Miss Pennsylvania and reporter for CBS-3 this summer before she departs for Ireland!

The Philadelphia Rose will serve as an ambassador to various charities throughout the year.

This is NOT a beauty pageant! It is all about young women who are intelligent, confident and can serve as role models for the younger generation of Irish women.
